A Host of Golden Daffodils

Well, nearly a host anyway. Definitely a bunch this week, with more to come. And the weather for February is totally amazing.

Daffodils 3

The tulips might possibly be a bit bigger than last week but it’s hard to say:

Even the lupin is coming along – I actually want to dig that one up and put it in the garden at home, as they’re not very good as cut flowers, so we must do that soon.

The rhubarb is still there too, which is good news.

Oh, and we have a bit of a shed roof problem since all that wind and rain a while back! Must do some mending soon then …

Here is the harvest of lovely daffodils:

And here they are at home – perfect!

Have a lovely Sunday!

Mole Hill City

Goodness, but the moles are having a fabulous party at the allotment! Mind you, they’re really the only thing that’s seriously got going at the moment, so I don’t really begrudge them, LOL.

Mole hills

I only did a bit of gentle weeding this week as I have a minor tear to the rotator cuff in my left shoulder (the one I had the operation on 4 years ago) and I don’t want to make it any worse – as the doctor advised me yesterday! Mind you, it’s certainly better than earlier this week when it was really incredibly painful, ouch and double ouch. I fear I will have to give up the Zumba, alas …

Anyway, the daffodils are doing their best – we even have a stray one in one of the disastrous Brussels sprouts bed, so at least something worked in there, hey ho …

And the tulips are a tiny bit taller than they were last week, which is positive news. I think they look like tiny mouths desperate to be fed, but maybe that’s just me:

The rhubarb is hanging on in there too:

Not much else going on at the moment however. So the harvest of two beetroots and some daffodils is small but perfectly formed!

Harvest

Here are the daffodils at home. I added them to last week’s mini-harvest which is still going strong, so it’s almost a bunch now …

Have a lovely and relaxing weekend, everyone!

More signs of Spring

A very soggy allotment today, so a good job we remembered to wear Wellingtons. The daffodils are coming on, and there are two in bloom, hurrah!

In fact there are daffodils and tulips springing up everywhere now, even in the beetroot bed – which just goes to show that you may THINK you’ve dug everything up but you NEVER ever have …

Beetroot Plus

The actual tulip bed is coming along fine:

And the rhubarb is hanging on in there somehow:

So there’s the usual mini-harvest of beetroots and daffodils:

And here are those two daffodils at home:
